CHILDLABOUR Child labour is work carried out children that harms them or exploits them in some way - physically, mentally, morally, or by blocking their access to education. While progress has been made around the world in the fight against child labour, there's still a long way to go. How Many Child Labourers Are There in the World? On the African continent, almost 20 percent of children aged 5-17 work, compared to around 8 percent in Asia Pacific and 5 percent in the Americas. Moreover, approximately 4.3 million of these children suffer in so-called 'unconditional' worst forms of child labour, which include forced and bonded labour, slavery, the use of children in armed conflict, the trafficking of children and commercial sexual exploitation.
